stopBSL's List of Breeds Targeted by Breed-Specific Legislation

Should you find a mistake or if you have another breed you believe should be added somewhere, or if you have a list of breeds that are banned in an unlisted country, we ask of you to please send the correction or addition to stopBSL's administrative team in note form only; all comments posted on this blog entry are considered spam, which will be hidden / flagged as spam & ignored, plus any questions will just be left unanswered. Please respect our wishes to keep this free of comments.

The following breeds are either regulated, restricted or banned and are categorized by country/region where breed-specific laws take place. See understand-a-bull.com for a list of where breed-specific laws take place and in what cities / states of the United States as well as what breeds and breed-types are affected.

Please understand that, in most, if not, all cases concerning breed bans/restrictions, mixes of these breeds and dogs that physically resemble these breeds are also targeted. Understand that while many "breeds" of dogs may closely resemble targeted breeds or have derived from established breeds which are a target of breed-specific laws, unless they are an officially established purebred breed of dog recognized by a major kennel then they will not be listed here or recognized by stopBSL as a targeted breed.

Each breed name is a clickable link, if clicked it will take you to a page with information on that particular breed. Some of these breeds have alternative names, which are listed in italics.

This list has been put together and created from scratch by the administrators of stopBSL, with most credit going to founder sassawj & co-founder t3hsilentone, this list is 99% accurate (because we cannot claim that it is 100% without risk) and always kept up to date with current breed bans around the world; no other anti-BSL group on DeviantART or organization on the internet will provide you with such accuracy.

It is important for our members as well as all dog owners to understand that our list here is the most accurate and reliable that we know of, and please be aware that the so-called "75 Banned / Restricted Breeds" list that has been floating around the internet for several years is 100% fake, yet it continues to shock and appall countless dog owners everywhere; please do not be fooled into actually believing that the Labrador Retriever, Fox Terrier and French Bulldog, just to name a few, are truly subject to breed-specific legislation, nowhere are those breeds restricted or banned. As previously stated, our list of targeted breeds is the most accurate and reliable list you will find on the internet as well as anywhere else.
